The time taken to travel from Dwarka Expressway to KMP Expressway is set to see a drastic reduction. The 10 km stretch of the Gurugram-Rewari highway constructed recently has already been started on a trial run before its opening for public traffic.
It seems like things are going smoothly, and a trip which at present takes around 45 minutes might get completed in just 10-12 minutes. The trial phase is not some sort of ritual for the engineers.
They do some testing about how the road behaves in the monsoons, whether any vulnerabilities will arise during the construction period, and whether all the safety measures have been considered. It will definitely become one of the major roads for the residents of New Gurugram.
The trial phase for the 10-kilometre section of the road linking the Dwarka Expressway and the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway. It is precisely the segment of the Gurugram-Rewari Highway (NH-352W), where trials have been started.
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has carried out the safety tests and begun trials on the section that starts from Sector 84 of the Dwarka Expressway and ends on the KMP Expressway through Harsaru village.

This will offer an alternative route directly for drivers travelling towards Rewari, Pataudi, Jhajjar, and their surrounding areas and not depend solely on the excessively busy Delhi-Jaipur Highway.
If the trial succeeds, the 10-km road would be formally opened to normal traffic. During the first phase, the time taken during the peak hour between Dwarka Expressway and KMP will reduce drastically from the existing 45 minutes to 10 to 12 minutes.
It would also help shift around 30% of heavy traffic from the heavily congested Delhi-Jaipur Highway (NH-48). Other phases of the 46-km-long highway between Gurugram, Pataudi, and Rewari are scheduled to be completed by the end of September 2026. In the coming days, NHAI will test the new road extensively before allowing traffic.
